小南島之光以檳榔葉鞘為主要材料，造型從部落生活中葉鞘器物的折製方式延伸而來。葉鞘經過浸水、彎折與乾燥定型後，依序排列於燈體周圍，使一片片葉鞘環繞光源向下展開。
點燈後，光線從葉鞘之間的縫隙透出，也照亮材料原有的纖維、色澤與自然痕跡。隨著觀看角度不同，葉鞘的重疊、開合與陰影也會產生變化，使燈體呈現介於植物、器物與光之間的形態。

Halo of Formosa is made primarily from betel nut sheath. Its form developed from the folding methods used in sheath-based objects found in Indigenous daily life. After being soaked, bent, and dried into shape, each piece of sheath is arranged around the frame, opening downward around the light source.
When illuminated, light passes through the spaces between the sheaths, revealing their natural fibers, tones, and markings. As the viewing angle changes, the overlapping layers and shadows shift, creating a form that sits between a plant, an object, and a source of light.

「小南島の光」は、ビンロウの葉鞘を主な素材として制作した照明作品です。部落の暮らしの中で用いられてきた葉鞘の器物、その折りの構造から着想を得ています。葉鞘を水に浸し、曲げ、乾燥させて形を整えた後、光源を囲むように一枚ずつ配置しています。
灯りをともすと、葉鞘の隙間から光がこぼれ、素材がもつ繊維や色合い、自然な痕跡が浮かび上がります。見る角度によって葉鞘の重なりや陰影が変化し、植物、器、光のあいだにあるような形が現れます。
